Nestled in the heart of Pathanamthitta, School of technology and applied sciences (STAS) stands as a beacon of academic excellence, innovation, and community. Our institution Established in 1995 under the auspices of the Kerala Government and Mahatma Gandhi University, STAS Pathanamthitta has emerged as a respected regional center affiliated with the university.

We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields such as Cyber Forensics, Computer Science, Computer Application, Artificial Intelligence Commerce and Life Science. STAS Pathanamthitta is known for its experienced faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and commitment to fostering innovation and practical learning. Through a combination of rigorous academic coursework and hands-on training, institution prepares students for successful careers in technology and applied sciences

Currently, the institution operates under the direct administrative supervision of the Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS), a government-controlled society led by the esteemed Higher Education Minister, overseeing three regional centers located in Kottayam, Kochi, and Pathanamthitta. STAS Pathanamthitta is situated at Chuttipara, an enchanting locale merely 1 kilometer away from the Pathanamthitta KSRTC and private bus stations.

Furthermore, STAS is deeply engaged in organizing seminars, workshops, National Service Scheme, Nature camps, Tourism club, IEDC Kerala start up mission and other activities aimed at nurturing technologically adept leaders with a strong sense of social responsibility. Fishery Biology and Aquaculture

The inland fishes, especially those inhabiting the rivers and streams of Western Ghats, comprise a vivid spectrum of Ichthyofauna offering challenging avenues of taxonomical ecomorphological and biological pursuits .Although many courses have been introduced in some of the fisheries institutions in Kerala none of them seem to have given much importance in the study of Inland fishes of Kerala. This clearly felt need led to the establishment of department of life science in the inland district of Pathanamthitta.
